This program is targeted towards multi-unit dwellings (MUDs) and workplaces that are PG&E electric customers – including CCA (community choice aggregation) customers. MUDs include apartments, condominiums and mixed-use buildings with residences. Workplaces includes sites like office buildings, business parks or government agencies.
No, public access is not required. Site hosts can decide how their charging stations are accessed and utilized.
PG&E will pay for all infrastructure up to the parking space, such as trenching, construction, and transformer upgrades, as well as a portion of the charging hardware. The costs to the program participant depends on several factors:

Two ownership options are available: EV Charge Owner and EV Charge Sponsor. If program participant selects EV Charge Owner, the program participant will own, install, and maintain the EV charging stations. There is no financing available through PG&E at this time.

Yes, the program participant can choose to charge drivers for electricity or offer it for free. If the site charges drivers, they can either pass along their rate directly to drivers or create a custom pricing plan. If a custom plan is used, the program participant must create a load management plan and receive PG&E's approval of the plan before chargers are installed.
The charging stations are on their own meter and will be billed separately from the building load.
No. The EV chargers will be metered separately, so any existing solar will continue to operate as usual and will not impact the chargers.
