Do you have smart technology in your home?

Do you want to use your smart home technology to help save energy during time-of-use (TOU) hours and/or demand response events?

Base Interruptible Program (BIP)

Earn a monthly incentive to reduce energy consumption as needed. When events are called, you’ll get a 15- or 30-minute notice to reduce your load down to or below your prescribed level. During summer months, earn program incentives of up to $14.80/kW for the 15-min BIP option and up to $13.50/kW for the 30-min BIP option. Usage over the prescribed level will be assessed a $6.00/kWh excess energy charge.

Capacity Bidding Program (CBP)

The Capacity Bidding Program lets you work with PG&E third-party providers to create a plan that suits your business’s unique needs. Capacity Bidding allows you to decide how to earn incentives by reducing energy usage when needed.

Emergency Load Reduction Program (ELRP)

The Emergency Load Reduction Program is a pilot program that offers financial incentives to reduce your energy usage during times of high grid stress and emergencies. Through 2027, the program incentive is $2/kWh for load reduction during an event. Once enrolled, participation is voluntary. There’s no penalty for not participating.

Peak Day Pricing (PDP)

Peak Day Pricing is an optional rate that offers businesses a discount on regular summer electricity rates in exchange for higher prices during Peak Day Pricing Event Days.*

*Effective summer rates are lower after Peak Day Pricing credits have been applied, but effective rates are higher during Peak Day Pricing event hours.

Automated Demand Response

Interested in CBP or PDP? Check out Automated Demand Response. It provides additional technology incentives.

Automate the energy controls of your choice with Automated Demand Response to save energy and money. Enroll in select demand response programs to become eligible for incentives through Automated Demand Response.

Automated Response Technology

The Automated Response Technology program leverages smart technologies in your home. These include smart thermostats, electric vehicle chargers and the like. You enable an authorized provider to optimize your energy use based on your electric rate and when grid demand is very high. You may be eligible for rebates and/or earn incentives.

SmartRate™

The SmartRate program lets you pay a reduced rate in exchange for minimizing your electricity usage up to 15 days a year. Lower your usage and help conserve California's energy resources.

Thanks for participating in demand response and helping support grid reliability for your community! Unfortunately, your inclusion in SmartAC or the Capacity Bidding Program excludes you from participating in another demand response program.
