Cold Weather Alert Beginning Wednesday
Tuesday, December 18, 2012
PG&E's California Gas Transmission is issuing a Cold Weather Alert beginning Wednesday, December 19. The current forecast is calling for many areas to be at or beyond our Cold Winter Day (CWD) conditions, including Redding, Sacramento, Santa Rosa and Eureka.
Cold Winter Day is a design day criteria used to ensure reliable gas service for core and noncore customers. Gas systems are designed to meet all expected core and noncore demand during a CWD. The CWD design temperature is defined as the coldest temperature that may be exceeded one in every two years, on average. The system weighted mean temperature for a CWD is about 37 degrees Fahrenheit.
CGT is currently not expecting local curtailments. We will provide updates on Pipe Ranger over the next few days as the situation develops.
Please refer to the Getting Ready for Winter
document, or call your CGT Account Services Representative if you have questions.
