California Gas Transmission has received several customer calls regarding INSIDEtracc password changes. In trying to change passwords, some customers end up locked out of the nomination system. Major disruptions placing nominations can occur when this happens on a weekend!

To prevent password problems, customers should follow the recommended password security guidelines previously posted in our November, 2005 Pipe Ranger article.

• Set length to be between eight and ten characters; this is the length needed in order for INSIDEtracc's password to synchronize with the Citrix password
• Include a mix of numbers, characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, with letters mixed so as to not form recognized words
• Use a number at the beginning or end
