Rates Change for the New Year
Wednesday, December 28, 2005
Annual Rate Adjustment
Each January 1, through 2007, rates for PG&E's California Gas Transmission backbone transportation and storage increase slightly according to the Gas Accord III approved by the California Public Utilities Commission in 2004. These new rates are available now on the California Gas Transmission Transportation Rates page, and will be available in the PG&E online tariff book on January 1st.
Shrinkage
Shrinkage rates are not changing on January 1, but are expected to change March 1, 2006, pending CPUC approval of Advice 2655-G. This change will have a minimal impact on backbone transportation rates. The off-system shrinkage will be reduced from 1.0 to 0.9 percent and all other backbone shrinkage rates will remain the same. Additionally, core distribution shrinkage rates will change from 2.1 to 2.9 percent.
