Balancing Withdrawal Services Increased
Monday, September 24, 2001
As discussed in the September 10 Pipe Ranger Recent News article, imbalance gas in storage now exceeds the 2.2 Bcf allocated to pipeline balancing. As a result, pipeline balancing injection has been unavailable since September 13, 2001.
To allow customers to reduce the excess balancing gas in storage, Pacific Gas and Electric Company's California Gas Transmission may also increase balancing withdrawal services beyond the 70 MMcf/d allocated to pipeline balancing. CGT will implement this policy with today's gas day. The policy will be evaluated daily but is not expected to continue beyond October 31, 2001.
Customers should continue to monitor Pipe Ranger Recent News, System Inventory Status and the Storage Activity Forecast for up-to-date information on pipeline balancing services. A California Gas Transmission Representative is available to answer any further questions you may have.
