Frequently Asked Questions: Pools

Q. If I want to buy gas at the Citygate from multiple marketers to serve several end-use customers, do I have to have a Citygate pool? Can I have Citygate pools without holding backbone transmission service?

A. To nominate from the Citygate to end-use customers, you need a Citygate pool. You do not need to hold backbone transmission service in order to have a Citygate pool.

Q. If I don't have capacity on a particular path, but get capacity from an assignment, will I have pools as a result of that assignment?

A. If you have a formal assignment, PG&E will set up pools for you using your customer code. If you are a nominating marketer for that capacity, but the capacity has not been released under a formal assignment, you would place nominations using the original holder's ID and use that entity's pools.
