Residential and multifamily pool owners can get a $100 rebate for replacing an old, single speed pump and motor with a new qualifying multi-speed system.

How to Get Your Rebate

California Title 20 Appliance Standards requires residential swimming pool filtration pumps and motors to operate at a minimum of two speeds. As a result, PG&E will not be offering rebates to residential customers for two speed pumps or motors purchased after December 31, 2009.

For variable speed pumps purchased after December 31, 2009 for single-family residences, please follow these guidelines:

Purchase and install qualifying product(s) between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2012.
These dates may change based on availability of program funds.

Please note: If you are applying for a New Energy-Efficient Multi-Speed Pool Filtration Pump and Motor, a signed paper application must be submitted. You are not able to apply through eRebates.

Two-speed pump

Rebates for two speed and variable speed pumps or motors purchased after December 31, 2009 for installation at commercial facilities will not be available until further notice. Multifamily properties interested in two speed or variable speed pump or motor rebates should apply through the Multifamily Program. PG&E will not be offering rebates to residential customers for two speed pumps or motors purchased after January 1, 2010 due to California Title 20 Appliance Standards regulation.

Lower speed for daily filtration
If necessary, use higher speed for cleaning, starting a roof-mounted solar heater, or backwashing your filter
Requires a controller capable of automatically switching speeds
