Duct Sealing for Homes

Get up to a $400 Rebate

Did you know that up to 20% of the heated or cooled air in your home may be wasted by leaky ducts? That means you could be paying to heat an attic crawl space instead of your living room. Properly sealed and installed ductwork can make your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system more efficient and your home more comfortable. When you test and seal your HVAC ducts, you may qualify for a rebate of up to $400 from Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).

Stop Wasting Money

When you seal the ducts in your home you can:

  • Save up to $740 over the product’s estimated 18 year lifetime*
  • Save up to 169 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year*
  • Help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

*Savings based on conservative estimates for the Fresno area.

How to Get Your Rebate

  • Review the Duct Sealing Rebate Requirements and Conditions to make sure you qualify for this rebate.
  • All duct sealing work and testing must be completed by a qualified C-20 contractor.

PG&E uses three consulting companies to ensure participating HVAC contractors are trained and qualified to participate in the PG&E Duct Test and Seal Program.

To participate in this program, contact one of the following Verification Service Providers (VSPs) to get started:

Buyer's Tips

Make sure to have ducts tested whenever a new HVAC system is installed and during your annual service. If the existing duct system is leaky and inefficient, a qualified contractor should seal it.
