New energy-efficient water heaters take less energy and time to heat water so there is less waiting time between showers and laundry loads. Installing a new energy-efficient water heater can help you save energy and money. Now get up to a $50 rebate on qualifying products.

*Savings based on 30-50 gallon .63 Energy Factor [EF] natural gas water heaters. EF is a measure of energy efficiency.

How to Get Your Rebate

Natural Gas Tank Water Heater

• Customer must have natural gas distributed by PG&E to the installation address.
• Gas tank (aka storage) water heater must have an Energy Factor (EF) of
  • 0.62 to 0.64 for the $30 rebate.
  • 0.65 or greater for the $50 rebate.
• Capacity must be 40 gallons or more.
• Must be new and meet or exceed all applicable local, state and federal standards.

Electric Storage Water Heater

• Electric storage water heater must have an Energy Factor (EF) of 0.93 or greater for a $30 rebate.
• Capacity must be 40 gallons or more.

Natural Gas Tank Water Heater	Rebate Amount
Energy Factor 0.62 to 0.64	$30
Energy Factor 0.65 or higher	$50
Electric Storage Water Heater	Rebate Amount
Energy Factor 0.93 or higher	$30

Exclusions: No instantaneous or tankless water heaters.

PG&E's 2010-2012 rebate program is available for qualifying products purchased and installed between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2012. Payment of rebates is not guaranteed as funds are limited, and amounts and offerings are subject to change. Qualifying products purchased in 2009 may be eligible for 2010-2012 rebates if energy efficiency specifications and rebate levels have not changed. All rebate program terms and conditions apply.
