The balcony on the second floor exhibits 24 types of glass types ranging from energy-efficient decorative glass to various types of tinted glass.
Compared to the glass samples found in the glazing alcove, these samples are fewer in numbers, but are large enough to be experienced as full scale windows. We use this exhibit to show people the visual difference among various types of glass. This exhibit is also useful in allowing people to experience (by touching the glass) how hot tinted glazings can become under exposure to the sun's direct rays.
For more information on glazing and windows see the architecture section of our Online Resource Center.
