NRC: Diablo Canyon Power Plant Operated Safely in 2013

AVILA BEACH, Calif. – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) latest annual assessment of Diablo Canyon Power Plant continues to find Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is operating the facility safely, and is meeting all of the federal regulator's safety and security performance objectives.
The NRC recently announced the findings in its yearly report card on Diablo Canyon. All 100 commercial nuclear power plants in the U.S. undergo such assessments by the NRC.
The commission's 2013 evaluation of Diablo Canyon, based on its ongoing oversight and inspections, places the Avila Beach facility among the highest-performing plants in the nation.

"Most importantly, the findings continue to demonstrate that we are fulfilling our commitment to deliver safe, reliable and affordable power to our customers every day."
