FERA Residential Single Family

Apply to receive a Tier 3 (131 percent to 200 percent of baseline) electric rate reduction on your PG&E bill every month if your household meets the requirements for FERA (Family Electric Rate Assistance).

To Qualify

  • The PG&E bill must be in your name.
  • You must live more than half of the year at the address where the savings will be received (not for second homes).
  • You may not share an energy meter(s) with another home.
  • Only your spouse can claim you as a dependent on a tax return.
  • Your household must meet the FERA income eligibility requirements.
  • You must notify PG&E if your income changes.
  • Tenants of sub-metered mobile home parks, apartments and marinas
    should see the Sub-Metered Tenant Program page.

Recertification

You must re-certify for the FERA Program in two years. Three months before your discount expires, you will receive a letter and re-certification application from PG&E giving you the opportunity to re-apply if you still qualify under the current income guidelines.
