In partnership with PG&E, Solar Tech will be hosting a Permitting and Installation Symposium, bringing together leaders from solar PV industry--installers, integrators, decision makers and building department officials. The objective will be on facilitating solutions to the challenges of the permitting process and discussing best practices. There will also be a strong focus on driving standardization forward to ensure a streamlined process, improved efficiencies and reduced costs

PG&E Hosts CSI RD&D Program Strategy Workshop

The CPUC and the CSI Program Administrators are investing up to $50 million to fund Research, Demonstration and Deployment (RD&D) projects to help achieve CSI's goal of a sustainable solar industry by 2016.

PG&E will be hosting an RD&D Program Strategy Workshop conducted by Itron, the Program Manager for CSI RD&D, to seek stakeholder input on the activities and approaches used in addressing the goals and objectives of the adopted CSI Solar RD&D Program.

Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing (MASH) Program Update

As of October 26, 2009, the Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing Program has received applications for more than the allotted $32.9M in Track 1 and all new applications will be placed on a Wait List and funded through Track 1 attrition.

Upcoming Permitting Symposiums Hosted by PG&E and Solar America Cities – Sonoma County and Berkeley

PG&E is taking action to facilitate solutions to the permitting process for photovoltaic systems. With the support and partnership of Solar Sonoma County, this Forum will provide an opportunity to get updated on recent progress by a panel of industry leaders from various jurisdictions and have a dialogue on best practices and constraints to adopting best practices, simplifying forms and review processes, adopting flat fees and generally increasing efficiencies.

Permitting & Inspecting Code-Compliant Photovoltaic Installations Seminar - October 3, 2009

PGE in collaboration with the Peninsula, East Bay, Monterey ICC & Northern California IAEI Chapters will be conducting a full day seminar on 'Permitting and Inspecting Code-Compliant Photovoltaic Installations'.

The purpose of this workshop is to help the audience better understand the NEC requirements for designing and installing PV Systems. The workshop is designed for building inspectors, plan checkers, fire officials, PV Installers, designers, engineers, and architects who wish to stay on top of the latest code compliance issues that help facilitate safe and long-lasting PV systems.
