Prescriptive Method

PLEASE NOTE: The 2008 California Title 24 Building Code will become effective January 1, 2010. All application submitted after January 1, 2010 will be reviewed using the 2008 T-24 code as the standard. Projects submitted for the performance programs, ENERGY STAR or the New Solar Homes Partnership Tier 1/Tier 2, must be at least 15% more efficient than required by the 2008 T-24 code.

This option is available to builders not participating in either the ENERGY STAR Performance Method or the New Solar Homes Performance Method. It provides incentives for specific features installed before December 31, 2009. Dated, itemized proof of purchase is required with installation location specified. Minimum 2005 Title 24 compliance must be met first without using these measures for compliance. Incentives will be paid only for measures that exceed 2005 Title 24. Refer to the RNC-PC form and product catalog for all program requirements and product specifications.

  • High Efficiency Dishwasher
  • High Efficiency Clothes Washer
  • Natural Gas Clothes Dryer
  • High Efficiency Refrigerator
  • Lighting - High Efficacy Interior Hardwired Fixtures with applicable controls
  • Tankless Water Heater (Natural Gas)
  • Quality Insulation Installation
  • Natural Gas Furnace AFUE 92 with or without Variable Speed Fan

For Climate Zones 2, 4, 11, 12 & 13 only:

  • ENERGY STAR Tier 1 Air Conditioner / Heat Pump
  • Night Ventilation Cooling
  • Refrigerant Charge and Air Flow
  • Verified Ducting System (Tight Ducts)
  • Cool Roofs

To qualify for incentives, builders must first be accepted into the program before installing any of the above energy efficient measures.
