Energy Orb

PG&E offers a number of demand response programs to help reduce a load on the system before a potential electric supply shortfall occurs. The energy orb serves as a visual notification for participating demand response customers and their employees to reduce their energy usage. Energy orbs alert business customers prior to and during an energy-reduction event.

The energy orb receives a wireless signal every 15 minutes. When power supplies are adequate, the energy orb remains solid blue in color. The signal activates the energy orb to change colors when power supplies are running low. PG&E sends a remote signal to each business location telling the energy orb to change color.

If you would like to order your own PG&E Energy Orb or would like additional information about the manufacture of the orb please visit our partner, Ambient Devices.
