The purpose of this program, often referred to as “Shift & Save,” is to store thermal cooling capacity during off-peak hours and/or partial-peak hours in order to meet thermal cooling load in subsequent on-peak hours. The program's targeted customers are bundled service, commercial, industrial, agricultural and large residential customers in PG&E's electric service territory. Permanent Load Shift (PLS) consists of two implementers, Cypress Ltd. and Trane USA. These implementers will report regularly to a PG&E Program Manager, but the full responsibility for administering the proposed program and delivering the actual load shift results, relative to an established baseline, rests with the implementer. The goal of this program is to shift 3.9 megawatts of load.

Cypress Ltd.
This program provides for the installation of Ice Store Air Conditioning (ISAC) systems. The incentive structure for these systems will remain thru 2011.
Effective June 1, 2010, the incentive payment will be $500/kW for the following TES technologies; Stratified Chilled Water Storage (SCWS) and Internal Melt Ice-On-Coil (IMIOC). There will be no Persistence or Performance Assurance payments for these technologies.
