Permanent Load Shift – Thermal Energy Storage
Earn an incentive to help offset the initial investment in a mature Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system. By storing energy that is produced for cooling when energy costs are lower (off-peak), and then distributing that stored, cold liquid for facility cooling during on-peak periods, you can save money on your bill.
PG&E’s Permanent Load Shift – Thermal Energy Storage Program requires you to shift energy use for cooling during the summer peak hours to off-peak hours. The incentive is open to PG&E electric customers.
To be eligible you must:
- Be on a PG&E Time-of-Use (TOU) rate.
- Have an PG&E SmartMeter™ or an approved interval meter.
