DescriptionCalifornia has set a goal to create 3,000 megawatts of new, solar-produced electricity by 2017. The CPUC's California Solar Initiative program provides incentives to existing residential and business customers when installing solar systems. The CSI Workshop is an introductory course for beginners, designed to provide a thorough understanding of the California Solar Initiative and its requirements. We will take you step by step through the application process and also give an overview of several related programs and services PG&E offers. Please note: This is not an instructional class on how to install solar.

1) Audience and prerequisite: It is recommended that CSI Workshop participants first attend one of PG&E's solar basics or photovoltaics classes. This workshop is designed for solar contractors and dealers interested in learning more about the CSI Program's application process and requirements.

2) PAPERLESS CLASS: In an effort to save paper and lower our carbon footprint, we will not be distributing a copy of the PowerPoint slides used during this Workshop. These slides and supporting documents and resources referenced during this class are posted to http://www.pge.com/solareducation.

3) Pre-class reading: Students should familiarize themselves with the topics and terminology that will be discussed by reading the most current version of the California Solar Initiative Handbook before attending this workshop. Visit http://www.gosolarcalifornia.ca.gov/documents/CSI_HANDBOOK.PDF for a copy of the CSI Handbook.

There is no cost to attend this workshop.

Please visit our Online Classes FAQ page for specific details about online classes.
Audience LevelThis workshop is open to everyone but particularly designed for solar contractors and dealers interested in learning more about the CSI application process and requirements. It is highly recommended that you attend one of PG&E's basic solar or photovoltaic (PV) classes before attending the CSI Workshop. PG&E offers many basic solar courses during the year in multiple locations.
