DescriptionThis course will help in understanding the importance of the relationship between: Residential design, heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, thermal envelope, air barrier, moisture barrier, appliances and occupants. When properly applied: occupant safety, building durability, indoor air quality, comfort and energy savings all take place together. When done individually, they may help, hinder or put your client’s health or home in danger.

Instructor(s)Andrew Wahl
Andy Wahl started in the Building Science field in 1981 at Jordan Energy Institute. He studied renewable energy and appropriate technology. From there he worked for multiple utility companies completing more than 7,500 energy analysis. Several assignments included program analysis for energy auditing software. He has more than ten years doing computer support; including hardware, database development, software issues, and user support. Certifications include CBPCA, HERS, BIG, BPI and BPI proctor. He is presently owner of “AC Home Performance, Inc.” with his wife Cara. Their company does testing, training and tool developing for House Performance. He practices what he preaches with a negative electric bill on his home since 2002.
