Wholesale Generator Interconnections
Wholesale Generator Interconnections are pursuant to FERC's jurisdiction. CAISO and PG&E have filed with FERC the Generator Interconnection Procedures (GIP) in their respective tariffs. Below are documents that overview the GIP for both Transmission and Distribution interconnections and the three processes within:

Connecting to PG&E's Transmission System: 60kV and above
All applications to interconnect generators to PG&E's transmission system (60 kV and above) are submitted to and managed by the California Independent System Operator (California ISO or CAISO), a non-profit public benefit corporation charged with operating the majority of California's high-voltage wholesale power grid. Please refer to the California ISO webpage for more information about the Generator Interconnection process.
Stay up-to-date on changes made to the California ISO's governing tariffs by visiting the California Independent System Operator (California ISO) website.
Connecting to PG&E's Distribution System: under 60kV
The Wholesale Distribution Tariff provides the rules for the wholesale distribution interconnection process and the application form, study agreements, and Small and Large Interconnection Agreement (SGIA and LGIA).
FERC has conditionally accepted PG&E's requested revisions in its Wholesale Distribution Tariff on April 29, 2011. The effective date of the amended Wholesale Distribution Tariff is March 3, 2011. For new generators, please follow the procedures described in Attachment I to PG&E's Wholesale Distribution Tariff (PDF, 885 KB).

Financial Postings pursuant to GIP
Financial Posting Documents will be available here soon.
Qualifying Facilities (QFs)
Qualifying Facilities (QFs) converting to merchant (wholesale) status will need to complete several steps before they can sell power to the market or to a third party. Please review the QF conversion process.
If your generating facility will require gas service
Please review the Gas Generator Connection page to assure that the appropriate information is provided to the utility to assist you in obtaining a natural gas connection for new generators that require transmission pressure (60 psig and greater).
If you require natural gas connection for new generators that require distribution pressure (less than 60psig), please visit http://www.pge.com/mybusiness/customerservice/otherrequests/newconstruction/.
