If you have natural gas appliances in your home, find the manufacturer’s Safety Instructions from appliance manualinstruction manuals that came with these appliances. Pick one manual, and look inside it to find three safety measures people should follow when installing or using these appliances. (For example, most natural gas dryers come with a warning to not use the dryer for rags that were soaked with flammable solvents, or else a fire could result.)

If you can’t find a manual, pick one of your natural gas appliances and use this website to make a list of three ways people can be safe around it.

Interview family members about the safety measures you’ve identified, and find out if they are followed in your household.
