Before calling PG&E about a power outage, check to see if other neighbors are affected. This will confirm if an outage has occurred in just your residence or within the neighborhood area. If only your residence is without power, check circuit breakers and/or fuse boxes to see if the problem is limited to the home electric system. After performing these steps, call PG&E's 24-Hour Outage Service Line at 1-800-PGE-5002 or 1-800-743-5002.

Customers who are without power for 48 hours or longer due to severe events, such as a storm, can call our outage hotline at 1-888-PGE-4PGE or 1-888-743-4743 to speak with someone about your particular outage.
If you are a residential customer and have gone without power for at least 48 hours due to severe storm conditions, you may qualify for a payment under PG&E's Safety Net Program. This program provides for the automatic payment of $25-$100, which is paid about 60 days following the storm outage.
