Benefits of Solar and Renewables
Using renewable energy to power your business not only can lower your energy costs over time, but also generates power free of harmful carbon dioxide emissions and other greenhouse gases.
Potentially lower your monthly electric or gas bill by making a well-informed choice to use renewable energy as your primary source of power or hot water generation. Thousands of Californians already rely on our most abundant natural resources—the sun and wind—for generating their power while also taking advantage of the financial benefits. With energy costs rising, there has never been a better time to consider renewable energy.
By using renewable energy you’ll dramatically reduce your carbon footprint. Each solar kilowatt-hour (kWh) offsets more than a pound of carbon dioxide (CO2). For example, by installing a 4kw PV system, you can reduce the carbon emissions equal to driving more than 12,000 miles in the average passenger car, or equal to the amount of CO2 absorbed by about one acre of trees.
A small wind energy system will produce a power output of 100 kilowatts (kW) or less. Most systems are much smaller than that and have power ratings ranging from 2 to 10 kW, which can provide some, if not all, of a homeowner's electricity needs.
Plus, properly maintained solar and wind systems should be able to produce clean energy from the sun and wind for up to 25 years!
"Installing solar power is the right thing to do—for our community, for the environment. That is why we have installed solar on our offices and agricultural fields." —Blake Davis, Agriland Farming
