As a local provider of electricity and natural gas, PG&E plays an integral role in the economies of cities and counties throughout Northern and Central California. As we build for the long term, the investments we are making to deliver a safe, reliable and affordable energy future will continue to benefit the communities we serve by generating new jobs, stimulating economic growth and supporting the local tax base.
As part of our nearly $2.5 million charitable commitment to economic development initiatives, PG&E is has created an Economic Vitality Grant Program investing $200,000 in programs designed to enhance local economic vitality—ranging from business incubation and growth to workforce development.
Those eligible for the PG&E Corporation shareholder-funded program include local government organizations, educational institutions and 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations within our 70,000 square mile service territory.
The grant application process is closed for 2013, but a sample version of the grant application including the types of metrics involved can be viewed here.
