You Need an Electric Account for Your Site
You are interested in either our Expanded Net Energy Metering program or our Wind Energy Co-Metering program, but don’t currently have a PG&E electric account under your name for the address of the generating facility. You must have an established PG&E electric account for the address of your generating facility under your name before we can set up your Net Energy Metering account. Note that, for buildings under construction, the building contractor may set up a temporary account to supply power to the site. This temporary account cannot be converted to a Net Energy Metering account. The building owner (or occupant) still has to establish an account for the address under his or her name. If you haven’t already, please contact our Service Planning Department about setting up an electric account. Call 1 (800) PGE-5000 for the appropriate number.
If you have an electric account with an Electric Service Provider other than PG&E, you must contact your provider about the net energy metering programs they provide.
For more information on setting up a new electric account, see our New Construction Services page.
If your generator will include a wind generating facility greater than 50 kilowatts but less than 1,000 kilowatts in size, you are interested in our Wind Energy Co-Metering program.
If the wind generating facility in your generator will not be greater than 50 kilowatts, you are interested our Expanded Net Energy Metering program.
