PG&E Electric Rates To Drop 1.1 Percent On January 1
Pacific Gas and Electric Company today notified the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) that average bundled electric rates will drop by 1.1 percent on January 1, 2008 as a result of an expected revenue decrease of approximately $105 million.

PG&E Corporation to Acquire 25.5 Percent Interest in Ruby Pipeline
El Paso Corporation (NYSE: EP) and PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG) announced today that the companies have entered into a letter of intent for PG&E Corporation to acquire a 25.5 percent interest in El Paso's Ruby Pipeline project—a proposed 680-mile, 42-inch natural gas transmission pipeline that would begin at the Opal Hub in Wyoming and terminate at the Malin, Oregon, interconnect, near California's northern border.

PG&E is a founding member of the California Climate Action Registry and has voluntarily catalogued its carbon footprint since 2004.

November Natural Gas Bills Slightly Higher Than a Year Ago
As we enter another winter season, natural gas bills for PG&E's residential customers are forecast to be 13% higher this November, compared to November 2006, with total average gas bills expected to be $50.50 for the month. This increase is driven in part by higher expected usage, this year, and in part by a 7 percent higher cost of gas.

As the weather begins to cool down in November, Pacific Gas and Electric Company reminds customers to schedule free furnace inspections and gas pilot relights. Safety and efficiency inspections performed on gas furnaces will help customers save money on their home heating bills this winter. Gas furnaces with dirty filters, leaky ducts or other problems use significantly more energy to heat living space.
