PG&E Announces Promotions to Leadership Team
Pacific Gas and Electric Company announced that its Board of Directors has elected Desmond A. Bell as senior vice president, shared services and chief procurement officer; Fong Wan as senior vice president, energy procurement; and Albert F. Torres as vice president, customer operations. In addition, John T. Conway senior vice president and chief nuclear officer, also will assume responsibilities for non-nuclear generation.

PG&E Purchases More Renewable Wind Energy to Serve California Customers
Pacific Gas and Electric Company announced today it has entered into a long-term agreement with Klondike Wind Power III LLC, a subsidiary of Iberdrola Renewables, to purchase 90 megawatts (MW) of renewable wind energy from the Klondike wind facility in Sherman County, Oregon.

PG&E’s Diablo Canyon Power Plant Begins Repairs On Unit 2
The Diablo Canyon Power Plant has begun a brief outage on Unit 2 to complete repairs after a transformer fire caused the unit to safely shut down on August 17. Diablo Canyon personnel, along with PG&E Transmission Substation Maintenance and Construction (TSM&C) crews, will be replacing the failed transformer, as well as some adjacent equipment that was damaged during the event.

PG&E's Diablo Canyon Unit 2 Remains Shut Down After Fire
Diablo Canyon Power Plant's Unit 2 reactor remains shut down after a transformer failure caused a fire outside the plant's turbine building on August 17. The fire did not pose any threat to the nuclear reactors and no personnel were injured. During the event all plant safety systems operated as designed, automatically bringing Unit 2 to a safe shutdown.

Diablo Canyon Unit 2 Remains Shut Down After Fire
Diablo Canyon Power Plant's Unit 2 reactor remains shut down after an early morning fire. The fire, which started shortly after midnight, was caused by a transformer failure in an area east of the plant's turbine building. The fire did not pose any threat to the nuclear reactors at the plant.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) notified county, state and federal authorities of the declaration of an Unusual Event at its Diablo Canyon Power Plant Unit 2 near San Luis Obispo, California. An Unusual Event is declared for an other-than-normal plant related condition that does not require any emergency action by the general public or any government authorities.

PG&E Signs Historic 800 Mw Photovoltaic Solar Power Agreements With Optisolar and Sunpower
Pacific Gas and Electric Company today announced it has entered into two utility-scale, photovoltaic (PV) solar power contracts for a total of 800 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. This significant commitment to photovoltaic technology will deliver cumulatively 1.65 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually. This would be equivalent to the amount of energy needed to serve approximately 239,000 residential homes each year.

PG&E Planning for California’s Energy Future
Pacific Gas and Electric Company today announced that it has filed two proposals with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) that will help meet Californians’ future need for clean, safe and reliable energy. PG&E Increases Renewable Portfolio With Horizon Wind Energy
Pacific Gas and Electric Company has increased its portfolio of renewables with the signing of a long-term agreement to purchase wind energy from the Arlington Wind Power Project, LLC, a subsidiary of Horizon Wind Energy, LLC. Horizon will deliver 240 gigawatt hours of renewable wind energy annually to PG&E’s customers throughout northern and central California.
