Environmental Benefits of eBills

If just 1 percent of PG&E customers use eBills, more than 12 tons of paper would be saved each year. This would also:

  • Save 42 tons of wood, the equivalent of 290 trees
  • Conserve 249,000 gallons of processing water
  • Eliminate 35 tons of green house gases related to processing emissions--from operating the vehicle that harvests trees to running the paper mill to transporting the end-product paper
  • Reduce the equivalent of 498 million Btu of energy
