Golden Gate Chapter of HEA Awards $1,000 Scholarships

The Golden Gate Chapter of the Hispanic Employees Association at Pacific Gas and Electric Company awarded three high school students with scholarships in 2004. The scholarship recipients demonstrated high academic achievement as well as a commitment to the community.

Recipients of the 2004 GGHEA Scholarship Awards:

  • Alicia Marie Nevarez, Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep, San Francisco. Nevarez plans to attend San Diego State University and major in Business.
  • Scott Edward Siordia, Armijo High School, Fairfield. Siordia plans to attend Santa Clara University and major in Electrical Engineering and Economics.
  • Natalie Ivette Salgado, City College of San Francisco, San Francisco. Salgado is a current student at City College of San Francisco majoring in Music Education who plans to transfer to a four-year institution.

Scholarships were funded through a variety of GGHEA events and other contributions, including tamale sales and raffles, membership dues and employee funds from the Campaign for the Community campaign.
