As PG&E employees actively engage in the communities in which they work and live, many do so through our various Employee Resource Groups. These groups not only help bring our employees together, but provide an essential bridge of communication to our customers, regardless of culture, age, gender or other defining elements. As part of the support these groups provide to the communities we serve, many offer scholarships opportunities for those pursuing higher education.

While PG&E utilizes a standard Scholarship application, each Resource Group reserves the opportunity to award funds to students who have shown commitment to specific communities or causes. Learn more about each group below, noting any appropriate supplemental applications.

General Scholarship Application Information

One of the key roles of the Employee Resource Group is rewarding scholarships to college-bound students for their academic achievements and community service. Access—Employees with Disabilities Resource Group


The purpose and objectives of the Access Employee Resource Group are to support, advocate for, and celebrate the inclusion of people with disabilities in PG&E's workforce; to provide support to customers and the community with disabilities; and to increase PG&E's awareness and reputation regarding disability issues, accomplishments and challenges.

2012 Scholarship Application
Access will be awarding $2,000 scholarships to up to five college-bound high school seniors and continuing students.

Black Employee Resource Group


The Black Employee Resource Group encourages excellence among its members, fosters a greater understanding of PG&E's diverse workforce, and promotes positive outreach and support in an effort to meet the growing needs of this represented community. Through unified and strategic efforts, the group seeks to increase African-American leadership, encourage the pursuit the of higher education and support social justice policies.

2012 Scholarship Application
This year, ten or more deserving students will receive a scholarship of $1,000 to $5,000 to aid in their educational expenses. Successful applicants will be notified by mail or email no later than April 30, 2012.

InspirAsian—Asian Employee Resource Group


InspirAsian represents PG&E's collective employee population. They seek to add value and support to PG&E's initiatives while providing an effective forum for members to enhance skills, knowledge and experience. Through organized activities, the group enables members to play a key role within the company and throughout their communities.

2012 Scholarship Application
The InspirAsian Employee Resource Group will be awarding at least ten $2,000 scholarships. Successful applicants will be notified by mail or email no later than April 30, 2012.

Latino Employee Resource Group


The Latino Employee Resource Group is an organization of dedicated employees committed to personal development, company success and community well-being. The group operates with a mission inspire Latinos to achieve their full potential at all levels within the Company and community, thereby enhancing the ability for shared success. The organization’s emphasis is on leadership development, quality service, youth achievement and appreciation for cultural diversity.

2012 Scholarship Application
In support of achieving these goals, the Latino Employee Resource Group will be awarding approximately 30 scholarships of up to $1,000 to eligible students who are graduating high school and enrolling in college or those who are currently attending college pursuing a degree. Successful applicants will be notified by mail or email no later than April 30, 2012.

Legacy—Tenured Employees Resource Group


The Legacy Employee Group strives to share the experience, knowledge and perspective brought by employees that have tenure or bring tenure to PG&E. The group supports both the community and company via outreach and mentoring efforts, while providing further education and development opportunities for members.

Legacy will be awarding $1,000 to 2,000 scholarships to up to two deserving recipients.

Nu NRG—New Employees Employee Resource Group


Pronounced "New Energy" the Nu NRG Employee Resource Group serves to engage, inspire, and on-board new employees through social networking, community volunteering, and professional development opportunities.

Nu NRG will be awarding $1,000 to $1,500 scholarships to at least five current college students.

Pacific Service Employees Association

The Pacific Service Employees Association seeks to provide scholarship opportunities reserved solely to the dependents of Pacific Gas & Electric Company Employees who promote community involvement in the areas where they live.

PrideNetwork Employee Resource Group


The mission of the PrideNetwork Employee Resource Group is to promote a safe and equal environment for PG&E Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Ally employees, while contributing to larger company objectives. The group extends its support to the wider community by co-sponsoring scholarships for senior high school students who support LGBT issues and representing PG&E in leadership positions within various community organizations.

2012 Scholarship Application
The PrideNetwork Employee Resource Group's scholarship program will be awarding $5,000 scholarships to at least five students for their service to the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community. Successful applicants will be notified by mail or email no later than April 30, 2012. (Please note: This scholarship does not require you to fill out the 2012 Scholarship Application above.)

Samahan—Filipino Employee Resource Group


"Samahan", meaning unity or collaboration in Tagalog, promotes social and educational aspects of Filipino-American culture and heritage among its members, but also to the entire employee population of PG&E. Additionally, the group partners with local Filipino-American organizations to extend the Company's relationship to the communities throughout the service territory.

2012 Scholarship Application
The Samahan Employee Resource Group will be awarding up to $2,000 scholarships to at least ten (10) deserving college-bound high school seniors at an awards ceremony tentatively scheduled for May/June 2012 to be held at our corporate headquarters at 245 Market Street, Conference Room A, San Francisco, CA. (Date subject to change.)
Successful candidates will be contacted no later than April 30, 2012.

Women's Network Employee Resource Group


The Women’s Network Employee Resource Group mission is to promote, develop, and celebrate the community of women working at PG&E. The Women's Network is active in many non-profit organizations devoted to professional development, environmental stewardship, and women-focused issues.

2012 Scholarship Application
The Women's Network Employee Resource Group administers an annual scholarship program which awards deserving students who reside in PG&E's service area of Central and Northern California with monetary support for their higher education expenses. Successful applicants will be notified by mail or email no later than April 30, 2012.
