Types of Courses
PowerPathway courses are designed to bridge existing skill and knowledge levels and fall into one of the following categories:
- Full Bridge (for those with limited or no prior related work experience) 200-300 customized community college credit hours to introduce applicants to the energy industry's jobs and provide preparation for PG&E's pre-employment tests. Courses are held during normal weekday hours.
- Intensive Bridge (for those with some related work experience) 100-150 customized community college credit hours. Classes are held in the evening and on weekends to accommodate work schedules and focus specifically on preparation for PG&E's pre-employment tests.
- Capstone Course (for those with formal related training) 250-300 customized community college credit hours that focus on skills specific to PG&E's needs and is for students who have completed a prerequisite AA or certificate.

How to Participate
To apply for a PowerPathway course, please complete the contact form. A career counselor will contact you to assess your skills and readiness to participate in the program.
To be eligible for PG&E employment, you must be at least 18 years of age by the time of employment, hold a valid California Class C Driver's License, and pass all required background checks (includes criminal history) and drug screening. As a general guideline, you should have completed probation or parole before applying for a position with PG&E.
Please Note: Only a limited number of candidates will be admitted into each PowerPathway training course. While participation in a PowerPathway course does not guarantee a job at PG&E, it is PG&E's commitment to consider and evaluate all applicants who successfully complete the course.
